Privacy Policy

Overview

Daotuan Chat (“the App”) takes user privacy seriously. This policy explains how information is handled and protected. Our core principle is simple: we collect as little data as possible.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information we do not collect

• We do not require an account or personal details such as your name, email address, or phone number.
• We do not collect your conversation history. Conversations are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
• We do not collect your API keys. They are stored in iOS Keychain and are only sent to the AI provider you configure when required for a request.
• We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

1.2 Minimal information that may be available

• Optional App Store crash reports: if you enable Share iPhone Analytics in iOS Settings, Apple may provide anonymous crash reports to help improve stability. These reports are not intended to identify you.

2. Data Storage and Security

• API keys: stored in iOS Keychain and protected by the operating system. They are not written to logs, configuration files, or app backups.
• Conversations and attachments: stored in the app’s local sandbox with file protection enabled and excluded from iCloud backup.
• Preferences: stored locally and do not contain API keys or other credentials.

3. How Data Is Used

Messages you enter are sent directly from your device to the AI provider you configure, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google, to generate a response. Daotuan Chat does not operate an intermediary server for these requests. Review the selected provider’s privacy policy to understand how it handles submitted data.

Web search uses the selected provider’s native search tools. Search requests are sent to that provider and are not separately processed by Daotuan Chat.

4. Third-Party Services

• AI providers: text, images, and files included in a request are sent to the provider you select. Relevant policies include OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, and the policies of any custom provider you configure.
• Volcengine Doubao Speech: when text-to-speech or speech recognition is used, the relevant text or audio is sent to the configured Volcengine speech service for processing.

5. Your Control

Because Daotuan Chat does not maintain your personal data on its own servers, we cannot access, modify, or delete your local data. You remain in control:

• You can delete conversations and attachments in the App.
• You can modify or remove API key configurations at any time.
• Uninstalling the App removes its locally stored data.

6. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The current version will be published on this page with its effective date.
